vi, [2], cxlviii, [3], 152-280pp, ciii, [1], plates. Rebound in modern half calf and comb pattern marbled paper over boards, raised bands, spine six panels, title in gilt to second panel, author to fourth, bands bordered with gilt single rule, all edges marbled.
Externally near fine. Internally some light browning and occasional spot of foxing, small round damp stain to bottom margin of Mm and Nn, with small hole to Nn1, but the text is generally quite bright and clean. Plates foxed and browned to edges, damp stain to corner (outside of plate mark), images generally clean. With twenty plates (one coloured) as called for.
