Vellum dulled and lightly soiled, lower cloth tie to upper cover is broken and absent, pearl shells to ends missing from lower ties, with one missing to one upper tie. Internally an occasional hint of foxing, but generally quite bright and clean.
A calligraphic manuscript on vellum, in black ink, title and initials in red and heightened with gold, border decoration in colours and gold, with the initials having miniature watercolour illustrations. Two manuscript calligraphic devotional quotes on parchment by Moore are loosely inserted, together with a template for the title lettering. The poem is The Forsaken Merman by Arnold
