[2], i-xii, [1], iv-v, [1], 464pp. Contemporary full calf, raised bands, spine in six panels, morocco title label to second, remaining panels with gilt central roundel from which emanates floral tools, volute floral corner pieces, gilt roll to edges, comb pattern endpapers. Slightly chipped to head of spine, foot of front outer joint split but holding well, covers rubbed with a few small scrapes. Internally quite bright and clean. Lacks the advertisement leaf called for by ESTC (seemingly never bound in). An attractive copy of the first edition of this scarce work by Mortimer. Goldsmiths 10836, Kress 6882
