222pp, original cloth in DJ. DJ spine slightly faded, minor chipping to spine ends and corners, rear panel lightly browned, with a couple of patches of darker browning. Spine faded, small ink mark to top-edge of text block, text lightly browned throughout with small patches of browning to text (mainly between pages 54-60), but generally clean. Signed by Le Carre to title, with the last three lines of the book, 'As he fell, Leamas saw a small car smashed between great lorries, and the children waving cheerfully through the window', in the authors hand and initialled to the foot. Housed in a cloth, velvet lined, drop backed box, with the title blocked in black to the spine, made by Temple Bookbinders
