xvi, 368pp, plates. Later full calf, raised bands, spine in six panels, title label to second panel, remaining panels with volute corner pieces in blind, volutes in gilt to bands, covers with thick and thin fillet border surrounding a foliate frame in blind, all edges marbled, marbled endpapers.

Modern reback, rubbed to extremities. Internally some off setting from engravings, otherwise quite bright and clean. Complete with thirty-six coloured engravings by Robert Cruikshank.

This copy has the woodcuts on pages 40 and 42, which Tooley designates as the first issue, Abbey suggests no priority. One of the more uncommon of Egan's books.
