[2], 47pp. Contemporary full morocco by A.[ntoinette] Cerutti. Smooth back with author and title in gilt, covers with a ribbon like abstract design and large volutes in gilt, a.e.g., leather inner joints with blue reversed calf pastedowns edged with red morocco, and free endpapers backed with gold paper and with another gold paper free endpaper, housed in a modern style fitted half morocco and paper chemise, (spine faded), and a leather entry slipcase (with the binders name to foot). Externally the spine is very slightly dulled, otherwise very good indeed. Internally some light foxing but generally fairly clean and bright. With coloured initials and eight hand painted illustrations to text, most with tissue guards laid in loosely. One of only thirty copies produced, this being number twenty-eight, and signed 'D'Essertine' beneath the limitation. The calligraphy is by Philippe Gonin, the artist D'Essertine was his wife, Claire Gonin-Verges. The attractive binding is by Antoinette Cerutti, a Parisian binder (fl. 1941-49), see Flety, page 40
