The Oeconomy of Human Life Translated from an Indian Manuscript, Written By an Ancient Bramin
x, 116pp. Contemporary full straight-grain morocco by Hering, raised double bands, spine in five panels, title lettered direct to second panel, place and date to fourth, remaining panels with gilt flower and volute decoration, covers with gilt frame encompassing a blind knot work border, central panel with volute corners joined by single fillet with small volute corner pieces in blind, gilt roll to corner edges, gilt triple fillet to inner edges, all edges gilt.
Spine slightly faded, corners lightly bumped, slightly rubbed to extremities, some light discolouring of leather to covers, lower cover with scratch. Previous owner's inscription to ffep, some light off-setting from plates, but generally clean.
Engraved illustrations by Gardiner after Harding, Hering's label to reverse of front endpaper.
Seemingly a large paper copy with proof plates (as per note to ffep).
