[2], iii-xiv, [1], 2-282pp, [2]. Later full morocco by Leonard Mounteney, with his 'designed & finished by' pallet to front turn in. Full red morocco, raised bands with uneven panels, title and author lettered direct to second panel, publisher to third, with foliate panels to first and fourth with tan morocco inlays, with 'special limited edition' to foot. Covers with a two line border and two single line frames, the upper cover with central floral spray, and floral corner pieces and mid pieces, with green and tan morocco inlays, lower cover replicates the border and frames but without the floral decoration. Single line to edges, inner edges with gilt roll decoration, with pink silk moire doublures and fly leaf, t.e.g. with leafy stem and flower head coloured gauffering. Very slightly rubbed to extremities, internally signature C is lightly browned with very light foxing to bottom margin, otherwise fairly clean, in a later slipcase. Former owner's bookplate to ffep (Marie-Louise and Samuel Robert Rosenthal). One of three hundred copies on Flower paper, printed in red and black with Chaucer type. The Nottingham born binder Leonard Mounteney spent a couple of years working for R. R. Donnelley's 'Extra Bindery', which was originally headed by Alfred de Sauty, and then joined the Cuneo Fine Binding Studio of Milwaukee. Peterson A16
