Two volumes complete, 1893-4 - Volume One - [9], x-lxiv, [1], 2-455pp, [1]; Volume Two - [8], lxv-xc, [1], 458-990pp, [2]. Slightly later quarter calf with vellum tips and marbled paper over boards, raised bands, spines in six panels, title in gilt to second panel, date to foot, remaining panels with volute and fleuron panel in black, top edges stained red, covers from the parts used as pastedowns and free endpapers
Spines rubbed and slightly dulled, some light fading to marbled paper to upper covers, internally some light off setting as usual, hint of browning to text, but generally quite bright and clean. Former owner's bookplate to front pastedowns
With a photogravure frontispiece and eleven full page plates in the first volume, and in the second volume, another photogravure frontispiece, five double page, and two single page plates, all by Beardsley, as well as many illustrations to text, including many attractive illustrated borders
Originallly published in parts, here some of the covers have been used as endpapers, one of the fifteen hundred standard paper copies (with another three hundred on Van Gelder paper)
