Two volumes complete - Volume One - [8], 244pp, thirty plates and Volume Two - [8], 503pp, [1], thirty-one plates. Contemporary full morocco, wide flat bands with spine in six panels, title lettered direct to second panel, volume number to fifth, remaining panels with central rectangular gilt device, covers with triple fillet bordering an anthemion roll frame, a.e.g.
Damage to third panel of the spine of volume two with small amount of loss, covers rubbed with several small scrapes and nicks. Some light foxing and soiling internally, occasional light off setting from plates, but generally fairly clean. Sixty-one (as called for) attractive hand coloured plates by Sansom after Sydenham Edwards. The plates were first used in Dickson's 'Complete Dictionary of Practical Gardening' (see our #000565).
