Robert Barker
[Poor Relief]
419
The full title is "Orders and Directions, Together with a Commission for the Better Administration of Justice, and More Perfect Information of His Maiestie; How, and by Whom the Lawes and Statutes Tending to the Reliefe of the Poore, the Well Ordering and Training Up of Youth in Trades, and the Reformation of Disorders and Disordered Persons, are Executed Throughout the Kingdome: Which His Royall Maiestie hath Commanded to be Published and Inquired of, by the Body of his Privie Councell, Whom he Hath Made Principall Commissioners for this Purpose", [4], 33pp, [21], 1-17pp, [1]. Bound in later full speckled calf by Riviere, raised bands, spine in six panels, morocco title label to second panel, remaining panels with gilt central lozenge and volute corner pieces, date to foot, covers with triple fillet border and circular corner pieces, gilt rule to edges, gilt roll to inner dentelles. Very minor rubbing externally, internally very lightly browned, but generally bright and clean. Estc gives the collation as A-G4, H2; this copy is A-I4, K2, the variant with 'command' spelt correctly on D3r, though, as noted, a different and seemingly unrecorded collation
