Two volumes complete - Volume One - lxxx, 219pp, [1], plates and Volume Two - v, [1], 271pp, [1], plates. Later half calf and marbled paper over boards, smooth back divided into three unequal panels, title label to second panel, other panels with volute corner pieces and fleurons to top and bottom, all edges marbled with marbled endpapers.
Slightly rubbed, internally occasional minor foxing, light water stain to head of frontispiece of volume one, folding map lightly browned to folds, larger patch of foxing to frontispiece and title of volume two, but generally quite bright and clean. Selborne library small round stamp to foot of reverse of title and again to bottom margin of one page, previous owner's armorial bookplate to front pastedowns (Robert Hyde Greg).
With all plates and maps called for, including four hand-coloured engravings of birds.
