Two volumes complete - Volume One - [32], 264pp, [2] and Volume Two - [24], 191pp, [15]. Early twentieth century full morocco, raised bands, spines in six panels, author in gilt to second panel, engraver and volume to third, place and date to foot, double fillet to board edges, gilt inner edges, a.e.g., french curl marbled endpapers.

Minor wear to extremities, corners slightly bumped and rubbed, small split to front outer joint of volume two. Internally some light spotting, occasional browning to four or five signatures, light water staining to bottom edge of first few pages in volume one.

First edition, first issue with 'post est' in medallion border on page 108 in volume two. Folding list of antiquities in volume one. Engraved throughout by Pine, subscribers included the Prince of Wales, Handel, Hogarth and Pope. Binding is by Zaehnsdorf. Housed in a modern cloth slipcase.
