X-XIII', ix, [1], 203pp, [1], sixty-nine plates; Volume Three, 'Melanospermeae', xi, [1], 200pp, fifty-three plates and Volume Four, 'Chlorospermeae', xiv, [2], 324pp, twenty-seven plates. Half morocco and marbled paper over boards, raised bands, spines in six panels, morocco title label to second panel volume label to fourth, remaining panels with gilt repeated leafy stem design, marbled endpapers, t.e.g. Slightly rubbed, one or two minor scrapes to leather, top edge of lower board of volume three worn. Internally some light spotting, but generally quite bright and clean. A total of two-hundred and twenty-two nature plates, including four additional titles with nature-printed vignette and one uncoloured plate. Bradbury 'acquired' the nature-printing process from the Austrian Staatsdruckerei and "thereafter, for a few years, the term 'nature printing' was closely associated with Bradbury's name in Britain. Books published by Bradbury and Evans and those projected ... dominated the field" (Cave, Impressions of Nature, page 105). Nissen BBI 1002
