Unpaginated, collates A4, B8-N8, O2 (lacking the final two blanks). Rebound in nineteenth century straight-grain morocco, smooth back, divided into five unequal panels, author and title in gilt to second, place and date to fourth, covers with double fillet border, gilt double fillet to inner edges, a.e.g. Slightly rubbed to extremities, especially outer joints and spine ends, upper cover slightly discoloured. Occasional marginalia in an old hand to text, small repaired tear to foot of G3, cropped close to foot in places, lightly browned, but generally fairly clean. Previous owners' bookplate to front pastedown. Engraved portrait frontispiece. Pforzheimer has four works by May, but not this one
