Full contemporary calf, later reback, raised bands, spine in seven panels, morocco title label to second panel, bands with gilt roll and with gilt roll to either side, other panels with central gilt device, spot pattern marbled endpapers. Corners bumped and worn, top and bottom board edges worn with loss to leather covering. Internally some light browning, occasional light foxing, one or two small closed tears, but generally fairly clean. Booksellers ticket to front pastedown (Williams of Cheltenham - BBTI gives dates of trading between 1822 and 1842). Complete with eight single page engraved plates of coats of arms, engraved map and sixty-four engraved birds-eye views by Johannes Kip. The second edition, with the same plates as the first edition of 1712 (excepting the frontispiece engraving of Atkyns by Van Der Gucht). Upcott 250
